Long story short: OBVIOUSLY I do not condone immoral, traumatising acts committed in reality that create victims and leave people scarred for life. When I explore uncomfortable "Dead Dove"-esque themes, it's not because I think it's okay to do in real life. You are allowed to be uncomfortable with fiction, and I implore you to block or distance yourself from anyone that makes you uncomfortable, including myself if such is the case.
(Long story long however...)I write dark and problematic content that may make some people uncomfortable or even trigger them. Themes I enjoy exploring may be similar to any of the following genres: Romance, Drama, Horror, Splatterpunk, Slashers, Thrillers & Suspense, Contemporary Fiction, Psychological Fiction, Psychological Thrillers, Erotic literature, Erotic Thrillers, and more.You're allowed to be uncomfortable with topics in fiction and there's no problem requesting trigger warnings where needed. You are under no obligation to consume the content I produce or interact with me. Your mental health and comfort come first and should never be risked due to fictional content! I make the conscious choice to prewarn people of possible triggers occuring in the things I create whenever I post so others can curate their online experience accurately.Liking something in fiction does NOT equate to condoning it in real life, and if you think fictional taste = a person's morality, we will not get along, and you're not welcome here.
Things I have writen and/or drawn that may be uncomfortable or triggering:
- "Problematic"/ dark themes (I.e. Abuse, murder, incest, cannibalism, and more)
- Unhealthy depictions of relationships and "love".
- In depth discussions of triggering subjects and their psychological effects.
- Sadistic & gruesome horror & gore in explicit detail, sometimes with a sexualised theme attached.
- "Romanticising" fictional villains even when they've done heinous things.
- Explicitly sexual content with graphic visuals/descriptions.
- A WIDE variety of kinks.
- Any combination of the above put together.
- Probably more I can't remember right now.
[PLEASE NOTE: The above is an example of what I will write. Not only does the production of said topics not equate to condoning the topics in real life, but it is not explicit to say what I write is in a sexualised or romanticised lighting. For example, exploring the topic of a character's abuse deems a trigger warning, hence why I include it in the list above.Some of my favourite books/films are The Lovely Bones, Precious, Dexter, and You. All of these have dark or triggering themes, and to gauge an idea of what I write, look to these.Consuming dark content does not make you a bad person. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for the things you enjoy.
